As an intermittent cake decorator, I just could not resist this one!


One of the key things I noticed about Betsy's teaching style is that she is very clear about how to head off mistakes that will make you unhappy with the outcome. It's evident that she has tried some things that don't work, and she shares that information throughout the tutorial.


The pictures are great, clear and close-up. And there are enough of them to help guide you through the steps.


Explanations of how to control the consistency of the cake icing are fabulous. Plus she explains why she uses this approach rather than other popular options you may have heard of.


I especially appreciate the tips and tricks for holding onto this teeny treasure and securing it while applying the icing without messing it up. Resourceful, to say the least!

Although this is intended for doll houses, I think the cake would be a cute little pendant and the two slices would work as earrings. Fun!
