Brilliant technique Karin! Just wanted to thank you very much for this intermediate design. I was a bit sceptical that it would work, i.e. twisting the horizontal lines to vertical, I couldn't see how this would work out. But I needn't have worried, I just followed your directions even when it didn't look as if it would turn out as your picture, and - hey presto! However, although this is aimed at an 'intermediate' student I felt that this would be good for a beginner, if a few more photos were included, e.g. one or two more photos showing how the clay is twisted from horizontal to vertical, ideally with the your hands on the clay showing what you mean by one hand 'rolling' the clay upwards while the other is holding the clay still. I found this a little difficult to follow at first but with my years of practice I was able to make an educated guess. Some who his only a beginner would probably find this confusing, but only because there is insufficient information for guidance.
But, having said that, I am absolutely delighted with your 'large beads' - with the twist! I shall have great fun applying this to so many different pieces of jewellery, e.g. bangles, small ovals for earrings, slices of the clay design for beads, and so on. I shall keep an eye open for anything else with your name!
